The Fountain Rock Elementary School was built in 1972 with a combined cafetorium at a distance from the small serving kitchen. The 5,000 sq. ft. cafeteria addition and kitchen renovation designed by Noelker and Hull’s Frederick, MD, office (formerly King, Asbury & Associates) comprised a large multi-purpose room that allowed the former cafetorium to be used only as a gymnasium. The new cafeteria was located next to the renovated and expanded serving kitchen. New public toilets, a partial HVAC upgrade and emergency power generation were provided.
