Designed by Noelker and Hull’s Frederick, MD, office (formerly King, Asbury & Associates) Parr’s Ridge Elementary School is the fourth in a line of new school projects for Carroll County. The school’s design is based upon Runnymede Elementary School (also completed by the firm), which was evaluated with other recent County schools as a prototype for a series of new elementary schools. Runnymede was the unanimous choice of the committees, and the design forms the basis for Linton Springs, Cranberry Station and Parr’s Ridge Elementary Schools.
Parr’s Ridge differs from its predecessors as it is a K-2 school, complementing the existing Mount Airy Elementary School. Occupying a corner of a county park, the school incorporates public-use recreation facilities.
