When the pharmacy at Chambersburg Hospital required relocation and renovation, Noelker and Hull created a plan that allowed for project completion in a single phase of construction. Relocating to a 7,138 SF space on a more patient-accessible floor, the pharmacy was renovated to comply with a change in USP 797 and USP 800 standards. Included in the plan are a compounding suite containing a workroom, a USP 797 Nonsterile Compounding Room, a USP 800 Sterile Compounding Room and an Ante Room. The design addressed healthcare performance criteria including architectural finishes, construction materials, temperature and humidity requirements, and High Efficiency Particulate Air (HEPA) filters to comply with the current USP 797 and USP 800 standards. The scope of work modified existing MEP building systems, and re-routed the hospital’s existing pneumatic tube delivery system.
