Mountain Hospice, Inc., a hospice provider, wanted to bring assisted living services to a previously unserved rural area. The client was sensitive to the local culture and felt it was important to design a non-institutional facility that was appropriate to the feel of the local area and people. Noelker and Hull as the design architect developed a classic “Small House” layout for 12 residents that share communal activities through area adjacencies. Each room is private occupancy with en-suite bathroom. The 11,400 SF building provides a warm homelike environment with beautiful view of the surrounding hills.
