The 31st Annual Excellence in Construction (EIC) Awards were held December 10, 2020, hosted virtually by David Sload, president and chief executive officer of Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) Keystone. This program recognizes and promotes the outstanding work performed on projects built by ABC Keystone members. The event celebrates the full journey of a built project, starting with the architects and engineers to the general contractor.

Three of Noelker and Hull Associates, Inc.’s projects were recognized in the healthcare and medical renovation category.

  1. Penn State Health St. Joseph’s Hybrid Catherization Laboratory in Reading, Pennsylvania (submitted by Benchmark Construction) received an Excellence Award in Medical Renovations $1 to $5 million. The new 966-square-foot Hybrid Operating Room can serve as a catherization lab or an operating room and also accommodates X-rays. Renovations included a new clean utility, equipment, and control room for the operating room.
  1. Keystone Health’s Keystone Professional Center in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania (submitted by Mowery) received a Merit Award in Healthcare $10 to $25 million. This new two-story, 63,238-square-foot medical office building expands Keystone Health’s urgent care, pediatric therapy, pediatric dental services, and community outreach practices. Notable architectural and interior design details throughout the building include an on-site playground, child-friendly wall murals, unique flooring materials and patterns, as well as large glass windows to welcome natural light.
  1. SpiriTrust Lutheran’s Village at Luther Ridge Skilled Care facility in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania (submitted by Warfel Construction Company) received a Merit Award in Healthcare $10 to $25 million. This new 43,205-square-foot, 40-bed skilled care and rehabilitation center completes the campus’s continuum of care. The skilled nursing facility is a resident-centered care model that contains two houses of 15 beds each and a 10-bed house for short-term rehabilitation. Each of the three neighborhoods contain private rooms and are centered around a social core with living, dining, activity, and spa spaces. The facility includes a new therapy gym that provides both in-patient and out-patient care.

Noelker and Hull provides architectural, master planning, and interior design services to senior living and healthcare facilities nationwide. We provided design solutions that demonstrate patient-centered care and consider how the building design relates to the healing environment. We have extensive experience designing projects that meet the unique physical, emotional, and aesthetic needs of senior and healthcare providers.
