Lauren Bennett, Design Architect for Corpus Christi Catholic Church’s new Narthex addition, and Kate Cashdollar, Noelker and Hull’s Director of Interiors, celebrated the dedication of the parish’s new church building last Sunday. Bishop Ronald W. Gainer of the Diocese of Harrisburg led the ceremony.
“You witnessed the ceremonial passing on of the keys to Bishop Gainer who opened the doors for us. That was done by Lauren Bennett of Noelker and Hull Architects. She came up with a tremendously beautiful design that incorporated beautiful elements of our historic church and yet a lot of space to receive people well. Lauren and your firm, thank you so much as well,” said Father Allan Wolfe, Pastor of Corpus Christi.
After five years of planning and fundraising, and one year after breaking ground, the 3,630 square-foot addition to the historic main church structure is now in use. Noelker and Hull partnered with contractor Brechbill and Helman to design and build a beautiful and functional solution to increase space, accessibility and traffic flow within the church.
Bishop Gainer commented to Father Wolfe, “. . . it is my joy and true blessing to gather with you to celebrate this wonderful accomplishment. You know, it’s not always that something that’s so practical and useful turns out to be so beautiful, and you’ve certainly achieved that combination much to the credit of the architects and also to the contractors and to your over-supervision and guidance of the project. So both Father Rodriguez and Father Wolfe, I thank you both, and most especially, again, to the Parish Family, congratulations.”
“We congratulate Corpus Christi on the completion of this milestone project which will meet the needs of a growing parish for years to come,” said Stuart E. Christenson, President of Noelker and Hull.
