On October 3, Noelker and Hull representatives joined local commissioners, judges, and officials in a groundbreaking event for Franklin County’s new judicial center. The ceremony focused on the impact the project will have on the county’s justice system.

John Wetzel, a former Franklin County Jail warden who now serves as secretary of the Pennsylvania Department of Corrections reiterated that the foundation of any community is a good criminal justice system. “None of that is possible unless we have a functional and effective criminal justice system,” he stated.

The court-improvement project addresses the space, accessibility, and safety concerns to meet the increased court load and security concerns. The project includes a new structure on North Main Street, renovations to the historic courthouse and courthouse annex, a new archives building, and a new administrative annex.
