Allegheny Lutheran Social Ministries (ALSM) opens new Senior Daily Living Center and ALSM at Home Offices

Noelker and Hull Associates, Inc. (Noelker and Hull) joined Allegheny Lutheran Social Ministries administrators, staff, and community for the ribbon-cutting ceremony at the newly constructed Senior Daily Living Center and ALSM at Home Offices in Somerset, Pennsylvania on September 19, 2018.

The new 7,158-square-foot senior center will host adult day programs and house offices for ALSM at Home care givers. The senior center is a center-based care facility for aging adults whose caregivers work or handle other responsibilities throughout the day, and the ALSM at Home facility, which offers in-home care, will consolidate ALSM operations and employees in Somerset County.

“Sometimes people are caring for a parent and they need to work or run errands,” said Andrea Schurr, director of mission advancement. “This way they know their loved one is being cared for.”

Participants enjoy socialization and cognitive and physical activities, as well as crafts and games.
