Mother Mary Lange Catholic School is the first new Catholic elementary school to be constructed in Baltimore in over 50 years. It provides a Pre-K through 8th grade education for children of all faiths. Noelker and Hull was asked to provide interior design services for the chapel space located on the third floor. Originally conceived as an unadorned space with a large double height window at the back of the sanctuary, Noelker and Hull added a pattern of wood wall panels and trim to provide scale, texture and warmth to the space. Paint colors were deepened to add visual richness, and a custom glass film was added to the window wall at the chapel entry from the school’s internal circulation to provide privacy and reduce distractions from students passing through the hall.
