Situated on a hillside overlooking the Susquehanna River valley in Selinsgrove, Pennsylvania, the Saint Pius X Catholic Church replaced a facility that no longer met the growing parish’s needs. The nave provides seating for 700 while an intimately-scaled daily chapel in the adjacent office wing accommodates up to 50 worshipers. An ornate marble altar and reredos that were salvaged from a closed church in New Jersey provide an appropriate historical and spiritual focus for the sanctuary. Operable panels on the lower level provide the required flexibility for a space that doubles as classrooms and a gathering space.
