The Highlands at Wyomissing is an established upper tier Life Care Community located near Reading, Pennsylvania. A comprehensive master plan was undertaken to build-out and enhance the 200-acre campus on all levels. One aspect of this was to add additional villas in one area of the campus. The first phase was for 8 duplex villas, totaling 16 units. The client charged Noelker and Hull with developing a new prototype for both 2-bedroom and 3-bedroom units that ranged from 2,700 SF to 2,900 SF.
The design layout creates a formal automotive arrival sequence by rotating the garage so that the garage doors are not visible from the street. The interior layout is organized with a circulation separation between the sleeping and living quarters. The living space, with its high vaulted ceilings, has a wraparound view of the wooded areas. Options include sunrooms and screened in porches.
