The Woodlands is a newly renovated 35-unit apartment building on the Homewood campus in Williamsport, Maryland. This adaptive reuse project centers around the original nursing home for the community which was built in 1949. After a new nursing facility was built, the narrow structure was completely repurposed instead of being demolished. The center corridor was shifted and large apartments were created on one side of the building. To maximize daylight, small additions with large window bays were added.
