TCPS - Easton Elementary School Dedication

Talbot County Public Schools’ celebrated the dedication of the new Easton Elementary School on September 30. Tom King, AIA, principal, and Robert Asbury, AIA, LEED AP, principal, of Noelker and Hull Associate, Inc. attended the ceremony along with educators, officials, and Talbot County schools alumni.

State Superintendent of Schools Dr. Karen Salmon, remarked that “Talbot County Public Schools needed this new building.” “They needed it because having a 21st century building like this one for our students is critical to their success in 2020 and beyond,” Salmon said, adding that she is excited to see what TCPS students and educators will accomplish in the new school.

The new 128,766-square-foot facility will accommodate 1,167 students in grades pre-kindergarten through 5, and include approximately 3,000 square feet of community use space. Although the existing buildings are being demolished, a key element of this project is to maintain the heritage and identity of the gentlemen for whom the original buildings are named in the new design. The project is designed to LEED Silver standards with a geothermal wellfield near critical environmental areas.
